Salwar kameez (also spelled shalwar kameez or shalwar qameez) is a traditional dress worn men and women in South Asia. Salvars shalvars or are loose pajama-like pants. The legs are wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. Kameez is a long shirt or tunic. The side seams (known chaak) are open under the beltline, which gives the wearer greater freedom of movement.
